During the winter of 2005, Tschudi Arctic Transit successfully conducted the first ship-to-ship (STS) transfer of gas condensate in the fjord at Kirkenes. In December 2006, the location for this operation was moved to Honningsvaag, close to the North Cape. We can today offer both Kirkenes and Honningsvaag as locations for transshipment of LNG, crude oil and oil products.  LNG transshipment is carried out at Honningsvaag and a permit is also granted to conduct this at Kirkenes.

Honningsvaag is an ice-free, deep-water port sitatuated in Norway close to the Russian border and can offer all the facilities required for STS operations. The transshipment area is located 4 km from the city centre in a sheltered bay.

Honningsvaag city and port are well equipped with social and commercial services and good infrastructure. The city has a national airport with daily services to Oslo and other major cities.

Through the Tschudi Group subsidiary, Tschudi Kirkenes AS, Tschudi Arctic Transit has access to deep water piers with 12,9 meter draft, a dry bulk silo capacity of 370,000 cbm and extensive outside storage space. These facilities enable us to offer transshipment, storage of bulk products and general import and export cargoes.
